To strengthen the financial foundation of farmers across the country, the Government of India is running the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The primary objective of this initiative is to empower small and marginal farmers, support their agricultural expenses, and boost their overall income.
PM-KISAN, eligible farmers receive annual financial assistance of ₹6,000, transferred directly to their bank accounts in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. This amount provides vital support for essential agricultural needs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
So far, the government has successfully disbursed 19 installments under the scheme. The 19th installment was credited to farmers’ accounts in February 2025. Since then, farmers have been eagerly waiting for the 20th installment.
The upcoming installment was expected to be released on 18 July 2025, possibly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a scheduled program in Bihar. However, that date has passed without any official confirmation or release. As a result, farmers may need to wait a little longer for the next installment.
