The Central Government’s flagship initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, was launched in February 2019 with the aim of boosting farmers' income and providing financial support. So far, 19 installments have been credited to farmers’ accounts, and the eagerly awaited 20th installment is likely to be disbursed in July 2025.
To ensure that no eligible farmer is left out, a statewide saturation campaign is being launched. Under this drive, officials at district, tehsil, and village levels will directly reach out to farmers who have not yet completed the required formalities. This effort aims to bring all remaining eligible beneficiaries under the scheme before the next installment is transferred.
As of now, nearly 5 lakh farmers in the state have successfully completed the necessary steps such as e-KYC, Aadhaar linking, and enabling their bank accounts for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Additionally, the government plans to prepare farmer registries for over 20 lakh farmers, further expanding the reach of the scheme.
Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year, paid in three equal installments. Only those who complete all mandatory procedures—e-KYC, Aadhaar verification, DBT-enabled bank account, and inclusion in the farmer registry—are eligible to receive the benefits.
The state government is committed to ensuring that every eligible farmer receives their due benefits. District administrations have been directed to monitor the campaign closely and submit progress reports regularly.
The scheme is managed through a fully digital and transparent system, eliminating any scope for middlemen or irregularities. To maintain the integrity of the scheme, certain categories have been declared ineligible, including institutional landholders, income tax payers, senior government officials, holders of constitutional posts, and some professionals. This ensures that the financial assistance reaches only the needy and deserving farmers.
