PM-KISAN 20th Installment: Expected Date, e-KYC Guidelines, and Key Reasons Why Your Payment Might Be Delayed

The Central Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) in February 2019 to boost farmers’ income and provide them with financial assistance. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments. So far, 19 installments have been disbursed directly into farmers’ bank accounts. When Will the 20th PM-KISAN Installment Be Released?

The 19th installment was transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on February 24, 2025. Since the government disburses one installment every four months, the 20th installment is likely to be released by the end of June 2025. However, the official release date has not yet been announced.

Why Your Installment Might Be Delayed:

1. Incomplete e-KYC: The government has made it mandatory to complete e-KYC to receive payments. Farmers can complete it online using OTP or by visiting a Common Service Center (CSC) for biometric verification.
2. Incorrect Bank Account Details: If your bank account is not linked to Aadhaar, the IFSC code is incorrect, or the account is inactive or closed, the transaction may fail. Ensure your bank details are updated on the PM-KISAN portal or at your bank branch.
3. Unverified Land Records: Land ownership documents must be uploaded and verified on the portal. Incomplete or incorrect records may lead to the farmer being excluded from the beneficiary list.
4. Farmer Registry Not Completed: Registration on the PM-KISAN portal alone is not enough. You must also be registered under the State Government's Farmer Registry. This can be done online or through the nearest CSC.
5. Name Missing from Beneficiary List: Sometimes farmers are removed from the list without their knowledge. Visit ⦁    pmkisan.gov.in, click on ‘Beneficiary List’, enter your state, district, and village details, and verify if your name is listed.

How to Complete Aadhaar OTP-Based e-KYC for PM-KISAN:

1. Visit the official website: https://pmkisan.gov.in
2. Click the ‘e-KYC’ option on the top right of the homepage
3. Enter your Aadhaar number
4. Submit the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
5. Once verified, your e-KYC will be marked as complete
