Farm Machinery on Rent for Small Farmers:

To support small and marginal farmers, dedicated outlets for agricultural machinery will be set up across constituencies. Farmers will be able to access modern equipment on a rental basis, helping them reduce input costs while improving productivity.

Rapid Growth in Dairy Sector:

The state has witnessed significant growth in dairy and animal husbandry. Over the past one and a half years, milk procurement has increased by 25%, reaching 1.25 million litres per day. Additionally, a ₹5 per litre increase in milk prices is directly benefiting dairy farmers. The government is also supporting gaushalas with resources for fodder management and crop residue handling.

Expansion in Irrigation and Energy Access:

Efforts are underway to expand the irrigation coverage to 10 million hectares. Farmers are also being provided electricity connections at affordable rates, reducing the overall cost of cultivation and improving efficiency.

Boost to Rural Economy through Tourism and Cottage Industries:

To strengthen the rural economy, the Tourism Department has introduced a homestay scheme, offering GST exemption on income up to ₹20 lakh. Alongside this, activities like honey production and other cottage industries are being actively promoted to create additional income streams for farmers.

New Opportunities in Agricultural Development:

According to the Agriculture Production Commissioner, the state has maintained a double-digit agricultural growth rate over the past decade. With increased focus on organic farming, horticulture, millet processing, and fisheries, agriculture is being transformed into a more profitable and sustainable sector.
