State government has completed all preparations for wheat procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2026–27. Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Edal Singh Kansana assured that this year’s procurement process will be smooth, transparent, and farmer-friendly, ensuring that farmers face no inconvenience.

Procurement to Begin in Phases:

Minister informed that wheat procurement will be carried out in a phased manner across the state. Procurement will begin from April 1, 2026, in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Narmadapuram divisions, while the remaining divisions will start from April 7, 2026. To provide maximum convenience, procurement operations will be conducted on all working days from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, allowing farmers ample time to sell their produce.

MSP with Additional Bonus:

Move to enhance farmers’ income, the state government has announced a bonus of ₹40 per quintal on wheat procurement. With this, farmers will receive a total of ₹2,625 per quintal, offering direct financial benefits.

Significant Rise in Farmer Registrations:

This year, a total of 1.904 million farmers have registered for selling wheat at MSP, marking a notable increase compared to last year’s 1.544 million registrations. The rise reflects growing trust among farmers in government policies and procurement mechanisms.

Improved Facilities at Procurement Centres:

The government has directed authorities to ensure adequate facilities at all procurement centres, including drinking water, fans, shaded waiting areas, and other essential arrangements. These measures aim to protect farmers from harsh weather conditions and ensure a comfortable experience during procurement.

Focus on Transparency and Efficiency:

Minister Kansana has instructed officials to ensure that procurement operations are conducted in a transparent, systematic, and time-bound manner. He reiterated that increasing farmers’ income and strengthening the agricultural system remain key priorities of the government.
