No MSP or Farmer Honorarium for Stubble burning
No MSP or Farmer Honorarium for Stubble burning

MP is continuously setting new milestones in the field of agriculture. The state has achieved remarkable accomplishments at the national level in agricultural production. It ranks first in pulse production, second in food grain production, and third in oilseed production. The area under the third crop is also witnessing steady growth.

No MSP or Farmer Honorarium for Stubble burning

To curb the practice of burning crop residue after harvest, the government has taken several effective measures. Agricultural machinery related to stubble management has been distributed to farmers on subsidy. Farmers who burn stubble will be denied the payment of ₹6,000 under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Honorarium scheme for one year, and their produce will not be procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during this period.

Bonuses on MSP for Paddy and Wheat, and Support via DBT

The state government is running various welfare programs related to agriculture, horticulture, food processing, civil supply, and consumer protection, which have significantly improved farmers’ economic conditions.
⦁    Farmers who sold paddy at MSP during Kharif 2024 will receive an incentive of ₹4,000 per hectare, with a maximum limit of ₹10,000 per farmer.
⦁    For wheat procured in Rabi 2024-25, an additional incentive of ₹175 per quintal is being provided.
⦁    Under the Prime Minister’s Farmer Honorarium scheme, assistance amounts were credited directly to farmers’ accounts on February 24, 2025, through a single-click process.

Incentives for Coarse Cereals and Soybean Production
For the first time, the state procured soybean under the central government’s support price scheme. Additionally, under the Rani Durgavati Shri Ann Incentive Scheme, farmers are being given ₹3,900 per hectare via DBT to promote the production of coarse cereals.

From Crop Insurance to Youth Skill Development
⦁    Crop Insurance and Digital Integration: Under the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, timely assessment of crop damage and disbursal of relief funds are ensured. The state has received an ‘Excellence Certificate’ for successfully integrating land records with the NCIP portal.
⦁    Subsidies on Agricultural Equipment and Training: Indian Oil, Reliance, and GAIL are establishing CBG plants to produce compressed biogas from crop residue. For setting up high-tech hub centers, beneficiaries are being granted up to ₹97.50 lakh.
⦁    Youth Skill Development: Training is provided for tractor service mechanics and combine harvester operators. By 2024-25, 7,361 youths have received free residential training.
⦁    Custom Hiring Centers: To promote self-employment among rural youth, 1,000 custom hiring centers are established annually.

New Facility for Crop Sales via Farm Gate App
Through the Farm Gate mobile app, farmers can upload photos and details of their produce and directly negotiate with registered traders in the mandi. After the farmer’s consent, traders can collect produce directly from the farm or village, reducing transportation costs and easing the selling process for small and medium farmers. Farmers also have the option to sell produce at their farm or warehouse through mandi-contracted traders.
