The biggest price jump today was recorded in Kolhapur (Laxmipuri) mandi of Maharashtra, where the maximum wheat price reached ₹5,000 per quintal. This price is significantly higher than the normal wheat market rate. It is believed that high-quality or special wheat varieties may have been traded there, which resulted in such a high price.
Similarly, in Kalyan mandi, Sharbati wheat reached ₹3,600 per quintal, indicating strong demand for premium wheat varieties in the market.
Other mandis of Maharashtra such as Amalner and Ahmednagar, wheat prices ranged between ₹2,100 and ₹2,400 per quintal, which is around the MSP level. This suggests that higher arrivals kept prices under pressure, though buying activity remained stable.
