Watermelon Market Prices Today - (25 May, 2026)

Farmers witnessed mixed trends in watermelon arrivals and prices across major mandis on 25 May 2026. According to today’s mandi update, summer demand for watermelon remains strong in many markets, although heavy arrivals in some large mandis have kept prices under pressure.

As per the latest market report, Delhi’s Azadpur Mandi recorded the highest arrivals of nearly 218 tonnes of watermelon. Due to the large supply, the market remained balanced and prices did not witness any major surge.

On the other hand, Maharashtra’s Pune (Manjari) mandi and Gujarat’s Porbandar mandi recorded the highest watermelon prices, touching ₹2,000 per quintal. Lower arrivals and strong demand for high-quality produce helped farmers secure better returns in these markets.

Several mandis across Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh also witnessed healthy trading activity. Traders especially preferred sweet, large-sized, and shiny watermelons, which continued to attract premium prices.

Let us now look at which mandis recorded the highest watermelon prices, where supply pressure impacted rates, and what strategy could benefit farmers the most.

Market Analysis: Arrivals and Price Trends:

  • Delhi’s Azadpur mandi recorded the highest arrivals at 218 tonnes. Due to heavy supply, prices remained under pressure and traded between ₹600 and ₹1,000 per quintal.
  • Rajasthan’s Udaipur and Sri Ganganagar mandis also witnessed healthy arrivals, but prices remained at normal levels.
  • Contrast, Maharashtra’s Pune (Manjari) mandi and Gujarat’s Porbandar mandi recorded maximum prices of up to ₹2,000 per quintal despite lower arrivals. This clearly shows that good-quality watermelon with limited supply is receiving premium rates in the market.
  • Uttar Pradesh’s Kairana mandi also reported strong prices up to ₹1,500 per quintal despite limited arrivals.

Advice for Farmers:

  1. Separate and grade larger, sweeter, and high-quality watermelons, as premium produce fetches better prices.
  2. Heavy-arrival mandis may offer lower prices, so farmers should also check rates in nearby markets.
  3. Summer demand for watermelon remains strong, so monitoring market trends regularly is important.
  4. Mandis with lower arrivals are currently offering better prices, making transportation to such markets beneficial if possible.
  5. Proper packaging and quick transportation after harvesting can reduce spoilage losses and improve profitability.
