The sharpest rise in tomato prices today was recorded at Delhi’s Azadpur mandi, where the maximum rate touched ₹5,000 per quintal. Prices at Keshopur mandi also remained strong, reaching up to ₹4,300 per quintal.
Rajasthan, mandis such as Bassi, Goluwala, and Alwar recorded prices above ₹4,000, mainly due to very low arrivals. On the other hand, markets like Rajsamand and Sikar reported lower prices between ₹1,000 and ₹1,300, indicating weaker demand or quality concerns.
Despite heavy arrivals in Azadpur (398.7 tonnes) and Jaipur (336.7 tonnes), prices remained firm, clearly reflecting strong consumer demand. Meanwhile, mandis like Goluwala, Rawatsar, and Bhadra received less than one tonne of tomatoes, which pushed prices sharply upward.
