Price & Arrival Highlights

  1. Highest Price → Sangli (Maharashtra), where rice touched ₹8,800/quintal.
  2. Lowest Price → Chauri Chaura (Uttar Pradesh), at just ₹2,450/quintal.
  3. Heaviest Arrival → Bahraich (UP) with 750 tonnes, followed by Lucknow with 350 tonnes.
  4. High Prices Despite Low Supply → Palghar (₹6,020) and Dohrighat (UP, ₹4,000).
  5. Strong Price Trend in Maharashtra → Mandis like Sangli, Solapur, and Karjat showed sharp upward movement.
  6. Weak Markets → UP mandis such as Chauri Chaura, Panchpedwa, and Lalganj reported lower prices.

Farmer Advisory

  1. Heavy arrivals mean lower returns – Farmers in UP mandis like Bahraich, Azamgarh, and Lucknow may earn less if they sell immediately.
  2. Sell in low-supply, high-price mandis – Locations such as Palghar (MH) and Dohrighat (UP) are offering better deals.
  3. Storage advantage in Maharashtra – With consistently high rates in Sangli and Solapur, storing produce could bring higher profits in the coming weeks.
  4. UP farmers should consider shifting sales to nearby mandis with stronger prices (₹3,400–₹3,500/quintal) instead of selling in low-rate markets.
