Important Tips for Farmers Before Selling Produce:
- Compare Prices in 2–3 Nearby Mandis: Sometimes, a mandi 20–40 km away offers a better rate, increasing your total earnings.
- Ensure Low Moisture Content for Better Rates: Maintain moisture levels within the standard limit to avoid price deductions.
- Calculate Transport Cost vs Price Difference: If the rate difference is ₹50–₹100 per quintal, selling slightly farther may still yield higher profit.
- Clean and Grade the Produce Before Sale: Graded and clean produce attracts higher buyer interest and better prices.
- Stay Updated on Government Schemes and MSP: Keep track of MSP, procurement programs, and subsidies to avoid losses and benefit from government support.
