Garlic prices across major mandis in India witnessed sharp fluctuations today. While some markets recorded heavy arrivals, others saw limited supply. Despite this variation, premium-quality garlic continued to fetch high prices in several mandis. Major markets in Rajasthan such as Kota and Baran reported heavy arrivals, whereas Haryana and Madhya Pradesh saw relatively low inflow but strong prices.

Garlic Prices in Haryana:
- Ambala Cantt Mandi: Around 1 tonne arrived today. Prices for “Other Variety” ranged between ₹3,000 and ₹4,200 per quintal. Arrivals remained normal, and demand was moderate.
- Bahadurgarh Mandi: Arrival was quite low at just 0.5 tonnes, yet prices stayed strong between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000 per quintal. Premium-grade garlic was in high demand.
- Barara Mandi: About 0.2 tonnes of average-quality garlic arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,800 to ₹2,200 per quintal. Weak demand kept the market subdued.
- Ganaur Mandi: Arrival stood at 2.5 tonnes, with prices between ₹7,000 and ₹8,000 per quintal. Good buying interest was seen from wholesalers.
- Jagadhri Mandi: Very limited arrival of 0.02 tonnes. Prices ranged from ₹4,500 to ₹5,000 per quintal. Low supply kept the rates firm.
- Naraingarh Mandi: Arrival of 0.1 tonnes. Prices remained between ₹6,000 and ₹8,000 per quintal. Farmers are hopeful that prices may rise further.
- Narnaul Mandi: Around 0.1 tonnes arrived, with prices stable at ₹6,000 per quintal. Overall trading remained calm.
- Palwal Mandi: Arrival of 0.2 tonnes and a steady price of ₹4,000 per quintal. Limited buying activity was recorded.
- Shahabad Mandi: Arrival reached 0.97 tonnes. Prices ranged from ₹2,700 to ₹6,200 per quintal depending on quality.
Garlic Prices in Rajasthan:
- Baran Mandi: Heavy arrival of 150 tonnes recorded. Prices ranged from ₹2,820 to ₹10,100 per quintal. Quality-based variation was high, and premium garlic fetched significantly higher prices.
- Kota Mandi: Highest arrival today with 786 tonnes. Average-quality garlic sold between ₹3,575 and ₹7,800 per quintal. Despite high arrivals, trading remained active with strong buying.
- Sikar Mandi: Arrival of 0.6 tonnes. Prices for average-quality garlic stood between ₹4,000 and ₹5,500 per quintal. Trade remained slow but steady.
- Suratgarh Mandi: Only 0.1 tonnes arrived, but prices remained firm between ₹6,400 and ₹6,600 per quintal due to low supply.
Garlic Prices in Madhya Pradesh:
- Barwaha (F&V) Mandi: Arrival of 1.5 tonnes. Average-quality garlic sold between ₹4,150 and ₹8,750 per quintal. High-quality lots received strong response from buyers.
- Bareli (F&V) Mandi: Arrival of 0.3 tonnes. Prices ranged from ₹4,500 to ₹5,500 per quintal.
- Kalapipal (F&V) Mandi: Very limited arrival of 0.01 tonnes. Prices fluctuated sharply between ₹1,840 and ₹6,380 per quintal based on quality and demand.
- Katni (F&V) Mandi: Arrival of 0.1 tonnes. “Other Variety” garlic sold at a steady price of ₹4,000 per quintal.
Advice for Farmers:
- Storing premium-quality garlic can yield higher profits, especially if prices continue rising.
- Markets with low supply are currently offering strong rates selling immediately in such regions may be beneficial.
- High-arrival mandis like Kota and Baran, prices may remain under pressure plan sales strategically to avoid lower returns.
