To ensure the smooth implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which provides free food grains to eligible beneficiaries, the government has now made e-KYC mandatory for all beneficiaries. To simplify the process, the government has launched the “Mera e-KYC” mobile app, enabling beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC for themselves and their family members from the comfort of their homes.
According to the District Supply Officer, the last date for completing e-KYC under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013 has been set as May 15, 2025. Following the directives of the Government of India, a special drive is being carried out to complete e-KYC for all eligible but pending beneficiaries.
To support this initiative, supply officers have been appointed at the district level and nodal officers at the sub-divisional level. Joint teams comprising fair price shop owners, gram panchayat secretaries/employment assistants, and ward in-charges in urban areas are organizing e-KYC camps for on-ground support.
Now Complete e-KYC without Visiting the Shop: The following types of beneficiaries can complete their and their family’s e-KYC using the "Mera e-KYC" Android mobile app available on the Google Play Store:
Ration Distribution May Be Affected If e-KYC Is Not Completed: All remaining beneficiaries are strongly urged to complete their e-KYC by May 15, 2025. Failure to do so within the stipulated deadline may result in the discontinuation of food grain distribution as per the directive of the Government of India.
