Potato Market Prices Today - (28 May, 2026)

Farmers, huge potato arrivals were recorded in major mandis across the country on 28 May 2026. According to today’s mandi update, potato prices remained under pressure in Delhi’s wholesale markets due to excessive supply, while some mandis in Madhya Pradesh witnessed strong prices because of lower arrivals and better-quality produce.

As per the latest market report, Delhi’s Azadpur mandi registered the highest arrivals of nearly 2,300 tonnes of potatoes. Due to the heavy supply, the maximum market price remained limited to ₹1,200 per quintal, keeping the market under pressure.

On the other hand, Karera mandi in Madhya Pradesh attracted attention after potato prices touched ₹2,000 per quintal because of limited arrivals and superior quality produce.

With rising summer temperatures and increasing supply, large price differences are being seen across mandis. Markets receiving huge quantities of potatoes are witnessing weaker prices, while mandis with lower arrivals and premium-quality produce are offering better returns to farmers.

Let us now take a detailed look at which mandis recorded the highest potato market prices, where arrivals were the highest, and what selling strategy may prove most profitable for farmers at the moment.

Market Analysis: Arrivals and Prices:

  • Comparing arrivals and prices, Delhi’s Azadpur mandi recorded the highest potato arrivals at more than 2,321 tonnes. Due to heavy supply, the minimum price dropped sharply to just ₹200 per quintal.
  • Indore (F&V) mandi also witnessed arrivals of over 804 tonnes, but premium-quality potatoes still managed to fetch prices up to ₹1,400 per quintal. This clearly indicates that better-quality produce is still receiving stronger rates.
  • Meanwhile, Karera mandi recorded only 0.6 tonnes of arrivals, yet prices touched ₹2,000 per quintal. Mandis with lower arrivals continued to offer better returns to farmers.
  • Contrast, Ujjain and Shajapur mandis saw very low minimum prices, limiting farmers’ profits in those markets.
