Today, potato markets across India witnessed sharp fluctuations in prices. In some places, heavy arrivals pushed prices down, while in others, limited supply and better quality drove them higher. Delhi’s Azadpur market recorded the highest arrival, with prices ranging between ₹300 and ₹2,400 per quintal. In Bihar’s Ara market, the Jyoti variety touched ₹2,600 per quintal, marking the day’s highest price. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh’s Morena market saw the cheapest potatoes, selling at just ₹400 per quintal.

In several markets across Rajasthan, Bihar, and Maharashtra, prices remained strong in the range of ₹1,600 to ₹2,400 per quintal. The trend clearly indicates that farmers can fetch better profits by selling in low-arrival markets with good quality produce. Keeping track of the latest mandi prices helps farmers plan the right place and time to sell their crops for maximum gains.

Farmer Advisory

  1. Farmers with high-quality produce should prefer selling in Delhi and Bihar markets for better profits.
  2. In low-price regions such as Morena, Bhind, and Indore, it is better to delay sales or store the produce.
  3. Keep an eye on low-arrival markets, as prices tend to remain higher there.
