A total of 46,944 development works have been completed, while 27,032 Village Development Plans (VDPs) have been prepared. As of September 8, 2026, a total of 18,093 villages had been declared Adarsh Grams. The initiative focuses on improving basic infrastructure, essential services and overall living conditions in these villages.

How Is PM-AJAY Funded?

PM-AJAY is a 100% Centrally Sponsored Scheme. States and Union Territories may supplement the resources available under the scheme based on their requirements.
