Price & Arrival Changes - Detailed Analysis:

Today, the highest price surge was seen in Barahat APMC (Bihar) where maximum rates touched ₹2,800 per quintal. In contrast, Kochas, Sasaram, and Piro recorded moderate to stable prices.

Haryana, some markets also witnessed strong upward movement especially Dhand (₹2,500) and Hansi (₹2,500) where prices remained firm. On the other hand, mandis like Gurugram, Bahadurgarh, Rewari, and Sirsa recorded minimum prices as low as ₹800, indicating that a lot of low-quality onion was supplied in these markets.

Terms of arrivals, Gurugram APMC topped the list with 77 tonnes, followed by Sirsa (29 tonnes) and Hansi (15.8 tonnes). High arrivals naturally pushed prices downward in these mandis.

Contrast, mandis like Chhachhrauli, Dhand, Hasanpur, and Bahadurganj recorded extremely low arrivals between 0.1 to 1 tonne resulting in stronger prices. Due to low supply, Chhachhrauli saw prices go up to ₹2,000, while Dhand touched ₹2,500.

Smart Advice for Farmers

  • Sell onions in high-price, low-arrival mandis like Dhand, Hansi, Barahat, where strong rates are available.
  • Avoid selling in high-arrival, low-price mandis like Gurugram and Sirsa where prices may remain under pressure in coming days.
  • If your onion quality is medium or low, selling in small nearby markets or local towns may offer better rates than crowded mandis.
  • Keep monitoring the price trend for the next 2–3 days, as fluctuations could bring either a sharp surge or further decline depending on arrivals.
