Price & Arrival Analysis – What Drove Today’s Tomato Market?

  • The sharpest price jump was seen in Bhusawal, where maximum rates hit ₹5,000 per quintal.
  • Markets like Hingna, Kamathi, and Mumbai also remained on the higher side with rates between ₹3,000 and ₹4,500.
  • Contrast, several mandis in Madhya Pradesh especially Shivpuri and Barad recorded very low prices between ₹250 and ₹900, reflecting weak demand.
  • Rahata and Sangamner in Maharashtra also saw minimum prices of ₹500, showing a softer market trend.

Arrivals played a major role today:

  1. Mumbai APMC, with more than 280 tonnes, saw stable to slightly soft prices because of heavy supply.
  2. Low-arrival mandis like Bhusawal, Pimpri, and Kalmeshwar (1–3 tonnes) recorded much higher prices.
  3. Morena (MP), despite receiving only 2.5 tonnes, prices stayed strong at ₹1,950–₹2,000, indicating firm demand.

Overall, markets with low supply showed strong price support, while heavy-arrival mandis traded at comparatively lower levels.
