According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon activity is expected to intensify across various parts of the country over the next seven days. Central, eastern, northwestern, and southern regions are likely to witness widespread rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
IMD has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall across Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha between July 3 and 8. Additionally, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim may receive heavy rainfall from July 3 to 6. Extremely heavy rainfall is likely in Madhya Pradesh (July 3–6) and in Chhattisgarh and Odisha (July 5–6). These regions may also experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
Heavy rainfall is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Jammu region from July 2 to 8. Eastern Uttar Pradesh may see rainfall between July 3 and 6, while Punjab and Western Uttar Pradesh could receive heavy rainfall from July 5 to 8. Very heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh (July 5–7), Punjab and Haryana (July 6–7), and East Rajasthan (July 3–4), along with thunderstorm activity and strong winds.
Heavy Rainfall Alert for Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat: Konkan, Goa, the Ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of Gujarat are also under alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall throughout the coming week. Scattered heavy rainfall is likely in Saurashtra and Kutch regions as well.
