Fresh green chilies at mandi – 29 August 2025 rates update.

According to today’s mandi report, green chili prices across India have shown significant fluctuations. Markets in Gujarat, such as Rajkot and Surat, experienced heavy arrivals, but prices remained relatively low, ranging from ₹500 to ₹3,300 per quintal. In contrast, low-supply markets in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh saw record-high prices – ₹5,000 per quintal in Samalkha and up to ₹8,000 per quintal in Gohana, while UP’s Doharighat and Fatehpur reported prices between ₹4,900–₹5,000 per quintal.

This indicates a clear trend: low supply and high-demand markets offer better returns, whereas heavy arrivals put downward pressure on prices. Farmers and traders can use this information to decide where to sell their green chili crops for maximum profit.

Farmer Advisory:

  1. Sell in high-price markets: Haryana (Gohana, Samalkha), UP (Doharighat, Fatehpur), Punjab (Fazilka) – especially if produce is of high quality.
  2. Avoid low-price markets for now: Gujarat (Rajkot, Surat), Rajasthan (Jaipur, Jodhpur) – consider storing produce until prices improve.
  3. Monitor arrivals & demand: Strategically distribute crops, as prices tend to be lower in high-arrival markets.
