Price and Arrival Trend Analysis:

The sharpest rise in garlic prices was recorded in Nagpur mandi, where the maximum rate touched ₹17,500 per quintal. In Akola, premium garlic also sold up to ₹17,000, although the minimum price dropped to ₹700, clearly reflecting quality variation.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, limited arrivals (1.7 tons) helped prices stay strong up to ₹15,000.
Haryana, very low arrivals supported firm prices. Garlic sold up to ₹12,000 in Samalkha and Hansi, while Thanesar recorded prices up to ₹10,000.

On the contrary, Jalna and Sangli witnessed relatively higher arrivals and medium-grade produce, keeping prices restricted between ₹3,000 and ₹5,700.

Overall, mandis with low arrivals and better quality recorded strong prices, while markets with higher arrivals or weaker quality faced price pressure.

Advice for Farmers:

  1. Farmers with good-quality garlic can earn better profits by selling in Nagpur, Akola (upper grade), Samalkha, and Hansi mandis.
  2. Regions where prices are currently low (Jalna, Sangli), avoid immediate selling and consider storage, if possible, to wait for price improvement.
  3. With the upcoming wedding and festive season, garlic demand may increase further, which could strengthen prices in the coming days.
