Some mandis, limited arrivals pushed garlic prices sharply higher, while in others, heavy arrivals kept prices under pressure. Notably, in select mandis of Maharashtra, high-quality garlic was traded between ₹10,000 and ₹11,500 per quintal, bringing strong relief to farmers. Garlic prices also remained firm in selected mandis of Gujarat and Haryana, supported by good demand.

Garlic Price & Arrival Analysis:

Today, the strongest price surge was observed in Pune and Chandrapur mandis of Maharashtra, where limited arrivals pushed premium-quality garlic prices to ₹11,500 and ₹10,000 per quintal, respectively.

Jamnagar (Gujarat), despite very heavy arrivals of 437.5 tonnes, maximum prices touched ₹8,775, clearly indicating strong market demand. In contrast, prices remained relatively weak in Visavadar (Gujarat) and Barara (Haryana), where maximum rates were limited to ₹4,705 and ₹1,800, respectively.

On the arrivals front, Jamnagar, Pune, and Nashik recorded higher volumes, which kept prices under pressure in lower grades. Meanwhile, low-arrival mandis such as Barwala (Hisar), Shahabad, Chandrapur, and Rahata saw stronger prices due to tight supply.

Advisory for Farmers

  1. Farmers with high-quality garlic can get better returns by selling in low-arrival mandis such as Pune, Chandrapur, and Barwala (Hisar).
  2. High-arrival markets like Jamnagar and Nashik, consider partial selling and store the remaining stock if proper storage is available.
  3. Demand is expected to remain firm in the coming days grading, cleaning, and proper packing can help secure premium prices.
