Dear Farmers, As summer heats up across northern India, so does the demand for watermelons. However, on April 30, 2025, the prices of watermelons across major mandis in Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh showed sharp fluctuations. While some markets reported prices soaring up to ₹2000 per quintal, others barely touched ₹600. These ups and downs weren’t just influenced by the arrival volume, but also by fruit quality, local demand, and weather conditions.

Let’s explore which mandis made headlines today and where farmers fetched the best returns:

Watermelon Prices in Haryana Mandis Today

Watermelon Prices in Gurugram Mandi: A healthy arrival of 11.9 tons was recorded. Prices ranged from ₹700 to ₹900 per quintal, with a model price of ₹800. The summer demand kept the market relatively stable here.

Watermelon Prices in Uklana Mandi: With only 0.3 tons of supply, prices remained higher due to limited availability. Rates ranged from ₹1000 to ₹1200 per quintal, and the model price stood at ₹1100.

Watermelon Prices in Punjab Mandis Today:

Watermelon Prices in Kharar Mandi: Kharar mandi saw 3.5 tons of watermelon arrival. Prices varied between ₹1000 and ₹1500 per quintal, with the model rate at ₹1200. Good quality produce and strong demand ensured satisfactory prices for farmers.

Watermelon Prices in Ludhiana Mandi: Ludhiana recorded the highest arrival today — 18 tons. Prices here ranged from ₹1000 to a whopping ₹2000 per quintal. The model price stood at ₹1500, making it one of the top-paying mandis of the day.

Watermelon Prices in Uttar Pradesh Mandis Today:

Watermelon Prices in Kairana Mandi:  Only 0.6 tons of watermelon arrived in Kairana today. Prices remained low, between ₹600 and ₹700 per quintal, with the model price at ₹650. Low demand and average quality impacted the market negatively.

Suggestion for Farmers: If you have high-quality watermelon and are targeting better returns, consider selling in Ludhiana or Kharar mandis. Before transporting your produce, always factor in transport costs, local demand, and mandi contacts for smooth and transparent sales.
