The weather in Uttar Pradesh has changed suddenly. According to the Meteorological Department, several areas in both western and eastern parts of the state may experience rain and thunderstorms on May 6. During this period, strong winds with speeds between 40 to 60 km/h are also likely.
Cloudy skies are expected across the state, and a yellow alert has been issued for all 75 districts due to the possibility of rain and storms. People in Lucknow and nearby districts may get some relief from the intense heat.
Districts such as Jhansi, Kanpur, Etawah, Prayagraj, Auraiya, Jalaun, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, and Mirzapur may witness strong winds.
Meanwhile, cities including Lucknow, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Noida, Bijnor, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Saharanpur, and Muzaffarnagar could see lightning and thunderclouds.
Rain, Hailstorm, and Drop in Temperature: On May 5, heavy rain was recorded in Varanasi, Bareilly, Gonda, and Lalitpur. Lalitpur saw wind speeds of up to 60 km/h. Hail was reported in Balrampur and Gonda. This change in weather has led to a noticeable drop in temperatures in several districts.
Rain Likely Until May 11: According to forecasts, some areas may receive rain on May 7 and 8. On May 9 and 10, rain is expected in parts of western UP, while eastern UP may remain dry. On May 11, rainfall is again likely across both regions of the state.
Reason Behind the Weather Change: A dry weather line stretching from southwest Rajasthan to Kerala, along with moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal, is affecting the weather across Uttar Pradesh. A strong western disturbance is also contributing to this change.
