The weather has taken a sharp turn across Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh. While the national capital is grappling with cloudy skies, fog, and deteriorating air quality, several districts in Uttar Pradesh are reeling under heavy rain and cold winds triggered by Cyclone Motha.

Cloudy Skies and Rising Pollution in Delhi:

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness partly cloudy skies and light rain over the next two to three days. Early signs of fog and haze have already started appearing in the capital. The minimum temperature is expected to hover between 18–19°C, while the maximum may reach 28–29°C.

Light fog is also predicted in Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Despite a slight improvement in air quality compared to last week, Delhi’s AQI still remains in the “very poor” category, hovering around 300. On October 29, Delhi recorded a 24-hour average AQI of 279, while Ghaziabad stood at 266, Meerut at 312, and Greater Noida at 248.

Cyclone Motha Brings Heavy Rain and Cold Winds to Uttar Pradesh:

The influence of Cyclone Motha is intensifying across Uttar Pradesh, bringing intermittent heavy rainfall since early morning in cities like Varanasi and Ayodhya, disrupting daily life. Continuous showers have been reported in Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Barabanki, and other districts, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures. The weather department has warned that the impact of the cyclone may persist until November 1, with 17 districts likely to witness heavy rainfall and around 30 districts expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
