Today, tomato prices across the country showed heavy ups and downs. In Maharashtra’s Pune and Nashik markets, tomatoes fetched between ₹5,500–₹6,000 per quintal, while in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur and Lucknow mandis, prices were much lower at ₹1,800–₹2,200 per quintal.
In Madhya Pradesh (Indore, Mandsaur), limited arrivals pushed prices above ₹4,000, whereas in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad and Saurashtra region, heavy supply dragged rates down to ₹1,700 per quintal.
Clearly, markets with higher arrivals witnessed lower prices, while mandis with limited arrivals offered farmers better returns. Before selling your produce, it is important to check the latest prices in nearby markets to ensure the right value for your hard work.
