To ensure farmers get the right price for their produce and prevent crop spoilage, the Bihar government has launched a new initiative. Under this program, farmers in the state can build modern onion storage sheds and receive up to 75% financial assistance from the government, with a maximum subsidy of ₹4.50 lakh. The main goal of this scheme is to provide farmers with the facility to safely store their crops for longer periods, enabling them to sell at a fair price when market conditions improve.
According to Vijay Kumar Sinha, the Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister of Bihar, this scheme is being run under the National Agriculture Development Scheme (RKVY), titled “Storage Infrastructure Scheme (2025-26)”.

Important Condition: The construction work must begin within 15 days of receiving the work order. If this condition is not met, the work order may be canceled.
