Heatwave Alert in Several Regions:

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), hot and dry winds (heatwaves) are likely in Bihar, Odisha, coastal West Bengal, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana today. These areas may face intense sunlight during the afternoon.

Rain Expected in Northeast India:

The northeastern states such as Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya, thunderstorms and rainfall are likely today. The weather in these places will remain relatively pleasant.

Humid and Hot Nights Ahead: Regions like northeastern Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, coastal West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh will not only feel the heat during the day but also experience humid and warm nights. States like Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Puducherry are expected to suffer from heat both during the day and night.

Safety Tips During Heat: The heatwave is expected to continue until April 28 in northwest India and until April 26 in eastern parts. The weather department advises people to avoid going outside between 12 PM and 4 PM. To stay safe, drink plenty of water, wear light and loose clothing, and take extra care of children and elderly people.

Relief in Hilly Areas: Weather in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand has turned pleasant due to light rain and cool winds. Rain is also expected to continue in the northeastern states until April 27.

Temperatures May Rise Further: According to IMD, temperatures are expected to increase in the coming days. In northwest India, temperatures may go up by 2-3°C in the next five days. In central India, a rise of about 2°C is expected in the next two days, while eastern India may see an increase of 3-5°C.
