According to the Meteorological Department, this week, intense heat and heatwaves will continue in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. Temperatures may reach 40 to 44.6 degrees Celsius, causing discomfort for many people.
Delhi and NCR, the weather will remain clear throughout the week with hot winds. Daytime temperatures may rise to 40-41 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures will range between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius. People have been advised to stay cautious to avoid the heatwave.
Many districts of Uttar Pradesh are experiencing intense sunlight and hot winds. On Monday, the maximum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 41.4 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in cities like Prayagraj, Kanpur, Agra, Ayodhya, and others crossed 40 degrees. The weather department predicts that the heat will increase in the coming days.
Madhya Pradesh, heatwaves are affecting several districts. In Sidhi, the temperature reached 44.6 degrees Celsius. Heatwave alerts have been issued for areas like Indore, Rewa, Gwalior, Chambal, Alirajpur, Badwani, Shivpuri, Bhind, Datia, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, and Singrauli. Other cities like Bhopal, Ujjain, Sagar, and Jabalpur are also experiencing extreme heat.
Heavy rainfall is expected from April 21 to 26 in Northeast states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and strong winds may occur in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Himachal Pradesh may also experience rain and hailstorms.
