The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, one of the flagship initiatives of the central government, continues to provide significant financial support to millions of farmers across India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive an annual amount of ₹6,000 in three equal installments directly into their bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
As of April 6, 2025, a total of 9,59,30,093 (9.59 crore) farmers across 28 states were registered as eligible beneficiaries for FY 2024–25. Out of these, 9,46,78,840 (9.46 crore) unique beneficiaries have successfully received the fund transfers under the PM-KISAN scheme.

The 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme was credited to farmers' bank accounts on February 24, 2025. Since the government releases one installment every four months, the 20th installment is expected by the end of June 2025, although the official date is yet to be announced.
Objective of the PM-KISAN Scheme: The PM-KISAN scheme aims to ensure income support and financial stability to small and marginal farmers. The funds provided help them manage agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, and other inputs, thus enhancing productivity and sustainability in farming.
