As Diwali approaches, farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. So far, the government has released 20 installments, with the last one reaching more than 9 crore farmers in August. While some states have already received the benefit of the 21st installment, millions of farmers are still waiting.
PM-Kisan scheme, the Government of India has so far released 20 installments. On August 2, the 20th installment was credited directly into the bank accounts of more than 9 crore eligible farmers. As with every installment, farmers received financial assistance of ₹2,000 each. Now, attention has shifted to the much-anticipated 21st installment.
On September 26, the central government released the 21st installment to farmers in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. Nearly 27 lakh farmers in these states received the payment. The decision to release the installment early was taken due to heavy rains and landslides that caused severe damage to crops, prompting the government to provide timely financial relief.
The key question now is whether farmers in other states will receive the 21st installment before Diwali. So far, there has been no official announcement from the central government regarding the release schedule. Until further confirmation, it remains uncertain if the remaining farmers will get the payment before the festival. For now, millions of farmers continue to wait for official word on the release of the installment.
