A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to farmers, disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The 20th installment of the scheme will be released on August 2, 2025, with Prime Minister Modi transferring the amount directly to farmers from Varanasi. The scheme is being celebrated both as a festival and a mission.
Minister Chouhan emphasized involving grassroots-level workers such as Krishi Sakhis, Drone Didis, Bank Sakhis, Bima Sakhis, Pashu Sakhis, and Gram Panchayat Sarpanches to ensure widespread awareness of the event. He also highlighted the importance of engaging farmers in discussions about Kharif crops during the campaign.
Shri Chouhan urged farmers across the country to actively participate in the August 2 event. He emphasized that this is not just an opportunity for financial assistance, but also a powerful platform to learn about various central government schemes for agricultural development.
