The paddy and millet procurement season has gained strong momentum across Uttar Pradesh. According to official data, both procurement and payment processes are moving at a faster pace this year compared to last season. During the Kharif Marketing Season 2025–26, the state has procured 4.12 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from over 70,000 farmers as of 19 November.
The government has already disbursed ₹852.24 crore to farmers for paddy procurement slightly higher than the ₹848.19 crore paid during the same period last year. Farmers have acknowledged that payments are being made on time this year, enabling them to smoothly continue their cropping cycle.
As per the state government, 4,40,318 farmers have registered to sell paddy this season. A total of 4,171 procurement centers are currently operational across Uttar Pradesh, ensuring smooth operations and transparent payments. Farmers have expressed satisfaction with both procurement and payment processes this year.
Along with paddy, millet procurement has also shown strong improvement this season. By 19 November, millet farmers have received ₹168.39 crore, while during the same period last year, the payout was only ₹56.28 crore. Millet is being procured in 33 districts at the Minimum Support Price of ₹2,775 per quintal. Farmers say the faster payments have helped them prepare efficiently for the rabi season.
Digital Monitoring Speeds Up the System: The government’s continuous monitoring and the use of digital systems have significantly streamlined procurement and payment operations this year.
The earlier issue of delayed payments has largely been resolved, ensuring farmers receive their dues promptly.
