Farmers and traders, there’s a major update from onion mandis across the country. While heavy arrivals in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra led to a sharp decline in prices, limited supply in Bihar and Haryana pushed rates up to ₹3000 per quintal.

Record arrivals at mandis in Indore, Junnar, and Devla (Madhya Pradesh) dragged prices down, whereas Charrahi Dadri (Haryana) and Amravati (Maharashtra) saw prices climbing to ₹3000/quintal due to lower arrivals.

If you are planning to sell your onion crop, this latest mandi price report will help you decide where and when to sell to get the maximum profit. Below is the state-wise price list, arrival trends, and expert tips for farmers.

Expert Tips for Farmers:

  1. Hold Stock in Heavy Arrival Zones: In areas like Indore, Devla, and Junnar, farmers can hold back some stock as current heavy arrivals are suppressing prices.
  2. Sell in High-Price Regions for Profit: Farmers in Bihar and Haryana, where prices are currently between ₹2500–₹3000/quintal, can sell immediately to secure good returns.
  3. Watch Market Trends: A dip in arrivals over the coming weeks could push prices higher. Keep a close eye on mandi trends to plan sales effectively.
  4. Use Storage Facilities Wisely: Those with good storage infrastructure can hold some stock to sell later at higher prices.
  5. Consider Transport Costs: If feasible, sending produce to high-price markets can bring additional profit after factoring in transport expenses.
