Recognizing the vital role of cooperatives in the agriculture sector, Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang stated that the establishment of the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) by the Central Government marks a significant step toward increasing agri-exports and ensuring higher returns for farmers.

Speaking at a state-level workshop held in Bhopal, the Minister announced that the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Federation and the Mandi Board have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NCEL. The primary objective is to promote institutionalized export of spices from the state.

1,578 Cooperative Societies Join NCEL for Better Price Realization:

Minister Sarang emphasized that this partnership will not only secure fair prices for farmers' produce but will also strengthen the cooperative movement in the state. So far, 1,578 cooperative societies from Madhya Pradesh have registered as members of NCEL.

Madhya Pradesh: A Leader in the Cooperative Sector:

Minister of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Aidal Singh Kansana highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s leading role in cooperative-based agriculture, noting that the state has won the Krishi Kisan Award seven times — a testimony to its achievements in the field.

Demand-Based Supply Chain to Benefit Farmers:

Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal explained that under the MoU, farmers will be able to supply produce in line with international market demands, enabling instant price realization. He noted that Madhya Pradesh already exports commodities such as rice, spices, coriander, chilies, and bananas.

Direct Access to Global Markets: NCEL Managing Director Anupam Kaushik stated that this initiative will directly connect farmers to global markets, significantly boosting their incomes.
“We are moving forward with the vision of Prosperity through Cooperation and Progress through Export,” he said, adding that NCEL, in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government and its departments, is committed to providing global recognition to local farmers and their produce.
