Madhya Pradesh government's Samadhan Yojana 2025–26, launched to provide relief to electricity bill defaulters, has received an overwhelming response from consumers. Within just two days of launch, more than 1,366 consumers registered, depositing a total outstanding amount of ₹2.70 crore. Under the scheme’s surcharge waiver policy, the state has also waived ₹1.53 crore in late payment surcharge, offering major financial relief to consumers burdened by long-pending dues.
The scheme was officially launched on 3 November 2025 by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav under the state’s Energy Department. The initiative aims to provide heavy surcharge relaxation for consumers with electricity dues pending for 3 months or more, enabling them to clear their bills with significant financial benefit.
Managing Director Shri Kshitij Singhal urged consumers to take advantage of the first phase for maximum savings.
“This scheme is a major relief for consumers who were unable to pay even the principal amount due to increasing surcharge. Now, they can clear their dues with a surcharge relief of 60% to 100%, either through one-time payment or in installments,” he said.
