Farmers, today the potato markets across the country witnessed sharp ups and downs, making everyone closely watch the latest rates. In some mandis, prices fell drastically, while in others potatoes touched the sky.
Madhya Pradesh, most markets recorded weak prices today, whereas Maharashtra saw a strong jump with potato rates touching ₹2,500 per quintal in several mandis.
Where arrivals were high, prices came under pressure. On the other hand, mandis that received low arrivals recorded stronger prices, giving farmers some relief.
Overall, today’s market movement was driven by demand, supply, and quality.

Today, the strongest price surge was seen in Kamptee (Maharashtra) where potato prices climbed up to ₹2,540 per quintal. Bhusawal and Hingna also recorded high prices in the range of ₹2,000–₹2,200, indicating a bullish market trend.
Contrast, Indore and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh recorded extremely weak minimum prices
₹178 in Indore and ₹140 in Ujjain, disappointing many farmers.
Markets like Katni, Lashkar, and Shajapur showed stable but moderate prices in the ₹700–₹800 range.
Terms of arrivals, Nagpur APMC topped the list with 315 tonnes, putting downward pressure on prices. Nashik (212 tonnes) and Akola (111 tonnes) also saw heavy arrivals, leading to softer price levels.
Low-arrival mandis such as Kamptee, Hingna, and Ramtek witnessed sharp price increases and maintained strong upper price levels.
