Monsoon to Bring Heavy Rain in Many States This Week, Weather Alerts Issued for Several Areas

The monsoon is likely to remain active across many parts of the country in the coming week. The weather department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in several states, with some places expected to receive very heavy rain. People are advised to stay alert, especially in areas where thunderstorms and strong winds are expected.

North India: Hill States and Uttar Pradesh to Get Regular Rain:

Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are likely to receive light to moderate rain throughout the week, with heavy rain expected on some days. Uttarakhand may get strong showers on July 17, 20, and 21. In Uttar Pradesh, both eastern and western parts will see continuous rain from July 16 to 21.

Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan: Keep an Eye on Thunderstorms:

Rain is expected in Punjab on July 16, 17, and 21, and in Haryana on July 17 and 21. Rajasthan may get rain on July 16 and 17, especially in the eastern parts where very heavy rain is possible. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely, so people should take precautions.

Central India: Heavy Showers in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh:

Madhya Pradesh will see regular rainfall between July 16 and 19. East MP may receive heavy rain on July 16 and 17, while the western part could see intense showers on July 18. Chhattisgarh is also expected to get heavy rain on July 16 and 17.

Bihar and Jharkhand: Be Prepared for Heavy Rain:

These two states will likely get heavy to very heavy rain on July 16 and 17. Thunderstorms and lightning may also occur, so people are advised to stay indoors during bad weather.

Northeast and Eastern Hills: More Rain Expected:

States like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and parts of West Bengal will receive heavy rain, especially on July 16 and again between July 19 and 21. Flood-prone areas should stay alert.

Coastal and Island Areas: Rain Likely to Continue: Rain is expected in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and in Odisha on July 16 and again from July 19 to 21. These areas will also see thunderstorms at some places.

General Warning: Many areas may face thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds over the next seven days. The public is advised to check regular weather updates and take safety measures, especially in areas prone to floods or strong weather events.
