Monsoon Gains Momentum Again: Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Delhi-NCR, UP, MP, Bihar, and Uttarakhand

The monsoon has regained strength across India, and its impact is expected to be significant across many northern states today, July 28, According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram, and surrounding areas, with intermittent showers expected to continue until August 2.

Heavy Rainfall Alert for Several Districts in Uttar Pradesh:

Several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Rampur, Bulandshahr, and Bareilly, are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain. Cloudy skies are expected to prevail throughout the day with intense rainfall in multiple areas.

Bihar on Alert for Torrential Rain:

Bihar, districts such as Patna, West Champaran, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Lakhisarai, and Munger have been placed under a heavy rainfall warning. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and avoid waterlogged areas.

Monsoon Intensifies in MP; Red and Orange Alerts Issued:

The monsoon has picked up pace in Madhya Pradesh, severely impacting normal life in several districts. The IMD has issued Red and Orange alerts for extremely heavy rainfall across the state. Continuous downpours have been reported since early morning in Bhopal. Districts such as Shivpuri, Betul, Vidisha, Chhindwara, and Sheopur are also witnessing relentless rainfall, resulting in waterlogging and traffic disruptions in low-lying areas.

Districts under Red and Orange Alerts:

As per IMD updates, Red Alert has been issued for Ratlam, Mandsaur, and Neemuch due to the forecast of extremely heavy rain. Meanwhile, an Orange Alert has been declared for Vidisha, Rajgarh, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Ujjain, Agar, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, and Sheopur, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Uttarakhand Issues Rainfall Alerts in Hilly Districts:

Uttarakhand, Orange Alerts have been issued for the districts of Champawat, Nainital, and Bageshwar, while Yellow Alerts are in place for Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, and Pithoragarh. Tourists and residents in the hilly regions have been advised to remain vigilant due to the risk of landslides and sudden downpours.
