Madhya Pradesh is making rapid progress in the field of agriculture, setting new benchmarks and achieving record crop production, said the Minister of Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development, Mr. Aidal Singh Kansana. The state has received the prestigious Krishi Karman Award for seven consecutive years. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in pulse production, second in food grain production, and third in oilseed production in the country. Additionally, there has been consistent growth in the cultivation of coarse cereals.
The state government has taken strong steps to discourage stubble burning. Farmers who burn crop residues will be denied the ₹6,000 benefit under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and will not be eligible for Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement of their produce in the following year.
