High Profit at Low Cost: Bihar Farmers to Get Up to 75% Subsidy on Vegetable Farming – Know How to Apply

To increase farmers’ income and promote vegetable cultivation, the Bihar government is offering a subsidy of up to 75% on the cultivation of select vegetables. Under this scheme, farmers growing bitter gourd, watermelon, brinjal, muskmelon, pumpkin, chili, okra, and sponge gourd (nenua) are eligible for financial support from the government.

Objective of the Scheme

The primary aim of this scheme is to benefit small and marginal farmers by reducing their cultivation costs and increasing their profits. In addition to the subsidy, the government is also providing seeds free of cost to farmers, thereby lowering their initial investment. These seeds are distributed through the Centre of Excellence in Nalanda and the Bihar State Seed Corporation.
