According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather is expected to become increasingly unstable across several parts of the country from June 20 to 26. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and parts of Northeast India. Gusty winds ranging from 40–60 km/h, along with thunderstorms and lightning, are also expected in many areas.

North India: Heavy Rain and Lightning Alert:

States like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall. The situation may intensify, especially over eastern Uttar Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan between June 20 and 24.

Central and Eastern India: Red Alert in Six States:

On June 23, Madhya Pradesh may receive over 20 cm of rainfall within 24 hours. Between June 20 and 25, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected across Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha, accompanied by lightning, thunderstorms, and strong winds (40–50 km/h).

Western India: Rain to Intensify Over Coastal Regions: Heavy rainfall is predicted in parts of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat between June 20 and 26, with particularly intense rain likely during June 22 to 24.

Delhi: Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds on June 22–23: The national capital, skies are expected to remain overcast with moderate to heavy showers, lightning, and gusty winds (30–50 km/h) on both days. Maximum temperatures may range between 34–36°C, while minimum temperatures could remain around 25–28°C, slightly below normal.

Northeast and Southern India: Active Monsoon Phase to Continue:

Steady moderate rainfall with occasional heavy spells will continue across Northeast India. Meanwhile, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are likely to experience rainfall in both coastal and interior regions, accompanied by strong winds reaching up to 40–60 km/h.
