Analysis of Price Trends and Arrivals:

  1. Highest price surge: Jamnagar (Gujarat) saw garlic rates reach ₹12,500 per quintal, despite arrivals of over 106 tons, due to strong demand for high-quality produce.
  2. Jetpur and Porbandar also recorded strong prices, between ₹9,430 and ₹10,000 per quintal.
  3. Dahod and Visavadar, limited demand and relatively lower quality led to minimum prices of ₹2,500–3,260 per quintal.
  4. Wadhwan, with very low arrivals (0.2 tons), maintained high price levels.
  5. Haryana, Hansi saw rates jump to ₹8,000–12,000 per quintal due to very low arrivals, while Barara had the lowest prices (₹1,700–1,800 per quintal). Narnaul and Thanesar recorded above-average rates due to limited arrivals.

  1. Farmers with good-quality garlic should consider selling in Jamnagar, Hansi, or Jetpur for higher returns.
  2. Avoid immediate sales in low-price markets like Barara and Dahod; if possible, store the crop and wait for better prices.
