Unseasonal rainfall this year has added to the woes of farmers in Gujarat. Continuous heavy showers across several districts have caused extensive damage to kharif crops. Standing crops in many fields have been completely destroyed, leaving lakhs of farmers facing severe financial distress. In view of this situation, the Gujarat government has announced a special relief package to compensate farmers for crop losses. Along with the package, a dedicated online relief portal has also been launched for farmers to submit their applications.
According to the government, the relief portal will become active from Friday afternoon and will remain open for the next 15 days. During this period, farmers can upload the required documents and apply for financial assistance.
Farmers can apply with the help of Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCE) or Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLE) available at their respective Gram Panchayats.
For convenience, the government has issued a dedicated link: https://krp.gujarat.gov.in, where farmers can fill out the application form for the crop loss relief package.
