If you're a farmer in Madhya Pradesh and worried about managing crop residue (parali) after harvesting, there's good news for you! The state government is now offering modern agricultural machines like the Happy Seeder, Super Seeder, and Smart Seeder at heavily subsidized rates. These machines not only eliminate the need for burning crop residue but also help improve soil fertility.
The best part? The government is providing subsidies ranging from ₹85,000 to ₹1.20 lakh for these machines. The online application process began on July 24, 2025, and interested farmers can now apply through the designated portal.
These machines are specially designed to manage leftover straw from paddy and wheat harvesting. Instead of burning the residue, these machines mix it back into the soil, turning it into natural compost. This improves soil health and allows for immediate sowing of the next crop - without the need for tilling.
These machines typically cost between ₹2 lakh and ₹3.5 lakh. However, the government is offering a 40% to 50% subsidy, which means eligible farmers can save up to ₹1.20 lakh on their purchase.
To apply, farmers must create a Demand Draft (DD) of ₹4,500 from their own bank account. This DD must be made in the name of the Assistant Agricultural Engineer of their respective district. Applications without a valid DD will not be accepted. This requirement applies to all three machines: Happy Seeder, Super Seeder, and Smart Seeder.
While applying online, farmers will need to upload the following documents:
These documents will be required both at the time of application and if the applicant is selected in the subsidy lottery.
