In a big boost for farmers across Madhya Pradesh, the state government has announced subsidies of up to 50% on essential farm equipment like rotavators and mini dal mills. The move, aimed at making agriculture more efficient and profitable, comes under the Agricultural Engineering Department’s machinery grant scheme. If you're a farmer looking to reduce tilling time or want to start processing your own dal (pulses) for higher returns, now is the right time to act. The government is inviting online applications through a fully transparent system, where eligible farmers will be selected via a lottery draw. This article outlines everything you need to know — from subsidy rates and eligibility criteria to required documents and how to apply.

Why Is the Government Offering This Subsidy?

The main goal is to modernize agriculture and promote value addition by encouraging the use of advanced tools and technologies.

  • A rotavator helps with fast and deep tilling of land, reducing time and fuel cost.

  • A mini dal mill allows farmers to process their own pulses, increasing income through direct value addition.

How Much Subsidy Will You Get?

The subsidy amount ranges from 40% to 50%, depending on the farmer’s category (caste, gender) and landholding size.

You can check your eligible subsidy amount using the calculator on the MP e-Krishi Yantra Portal before applying.

Why Is a Demand Draft (DD) Mandatory?

To ensure that only serious and committed farmers apply, the government requires a non-refundable security deposit in the form of a Demand Draft (DD):

  • ₹2500 for Rotavator
  • ₹2000 for Mini Dal Mill

The DD must be:

  • Made in the name of the Assistant Agricultural Engineer of your district.
  • Created from your own bank account.
  • Scanned and uploaded on the portal during application.

Important Note: Applications with an incorrect or lower DD amount will be rejected.

Documents Required for Application:

Before applying, make sure to keep the following documents ready:

  • Copy of Aadhaar Card
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
  • Bank passbook (for account verification)
  • Demand Draft (DD) with correct amount
  • Land ownership document – Khasra/Khatauni or B-1 extract

These documents will be required at the time of application and again for verification if selected in the lottery.

Where and How to Apply:

Farmers can apply online through the e-Krishi Yantra Grant Portal of Madhya Pradesh. There are two types of applicants:

  1. Registered Farmers: Already registered users can log in using their Aadhaar OTP on the portal.

  2. New Farmers: New users must register via biometric Aadhaar authentication at their nearest MP Online or CSC center.

Final Advice for Farmers

  • This is a time-bound scheme, so apply as soon as possible.
  • Use the portal’s calculator to estimate your subsidy and prepare your DD accordingly.
  • Ensure all documents are genuine and scanned clearly.
  • If selected in the lottery, complete verification on time to receive the subsidy.
