The use of modern agricultural technology in paddy transplantation is proving to be a game-changer for farmers. In a recent field visit to Dighora village under Patan block, Member of Parliament Shri Ashish Dubey observed the functioning of a Paddy Transplanter machine on the farm of progressive farmer Shri Kushagra Palha. Impressed by the efficiency of the machine, he encouraged farmers across the district to adopt this technology to save time, labour, and costs—ultimately boosting their income.

Paddy Transplanter Machine Brings Efficiency to Paddy Farming:

Demonstrating keen interest, MP Shri Dubey even operated the machine himself to understand its mechanism. Deputy Director of Agriculture, Dr. S.K. Nigam, informed that the total cost of the machine is ₹14.40 lakh, out of which eligible farmers receive up to ₹5 lakh in subsidy from the agriculture department. Shri Palha, who has availed the machine under the same scheme, shared that due to labour shortages, traditional transplantation had become increasingly expensive. The cost per acre usually ranges between ₹7,000 to ₹8,000, whereas the paddy transplanter reduces it drastically to ₹1,500–₹1,600 per acre. Remarkably, the machine can transplant up to 8 acres in a single day.

How to Apply & Machine Availability:

On this occasion, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Dr. Indira Tripathi, shared that farmers can apply for the machine through the e-Krishi Yantra Anudan portal. Required documents include land ownership records, B-1 copy, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and mobile number. Currently, around 65 paddy transplanter machines are available in the district, with the highest usage reported from Patan block.

Government Push towards Modern Agriculture:

This initiative is part of a broader effort to shift farmers from traditional to modern methods of cultivation, aiming to enhance productivity and income. The Agriculture Department is actively promoting such innovations through awareness campaigns and on-ground demonstrations to encourage adoption.
