Uttar Pradesh: Bottle Gourd Crosses ₹1500 in Several Mandis – Relief for Farmers:

Many vegetable mandis across Uttar Pradesh saw bottle gourd prices ranging from ₹1000 to ₹1550 per quintal. In Maigalganj Mandi (Mainpuri district), the highest price was ₹1550, and the modal price stood at ₹1525, the highest in the state.

Lalganj Mandi also saw a strong price of ₹1500 per quintal. In Tulsipur Mandi, the maximum rate touched ₹1280, while the modal price was ₹1250.

In Gulawathi, prices reached ₹1100, and in Sikandrabad, the maximum rate was ₹1000 per quintal. Here, higher supply and lower demand kept the prices relatively subdued. Overall, the price trend in UP is moving upward, bringing some relief to growers.

Haryana: Record-Breaking ₹3000/Quintal in Hansi Mandi:

  • Haryana, bottle gourd prices created a stir. Hansi Mandi recorded the day’s highest rate at ₹3000 per quintal, while the modal price was ₹2000, giving farmers outstanding profits.
  • Gurugram Mandi, the maximum price was ₹1400 and the modal price was ₹1200, reflecting a steady demand that helped maintain stable rates.

Where Are the Best Prices – And Where's the Slump?

  • If we compare mandis, Maigalganj (UP) and Hansi (Haryana) stood out with the best rates for bottle gourd. On the other hand, Gulawathi, Sikandrabad, and a few other mandis recorded prices around or below ₹1000.
  • This clearly shows that areas with strong local demand and limited supply are offering better prices to farmers.

Farmer Advice: Plan Sales in Mandis with Higher Rates:

  • Given the rising trend in bottle gourd prices, now is a good time to sell—especially if you're near mandis where rates are above ₹1400. Selling at this stage can earn you solid profits.
