Garlic Mandi Bhav Today (29 October, 2025): Prices Soar to ₹12,000 in Punjab, Fall to ₹700 in Indore – Full State-wise Report

Across India, garlic prices showed sharp fluctuations in today’s mandi (market) trade. Punjab, garlic prices surged up to ₹12,000 per quintal, while in Indore (Madhya Pradesh), prices dropped drastically to ₹700 per quintal marking the lowest in the country. It turned out to be a mixed day for farmers and traders profits in some regions, losses in others.

In Tanda Urmar mandi (Punjab), prices hit record highs despite limited arrivals, whereas in Jaipur mandi (Rajasthan), heavy inflow kept garlic prices stable around ₹8,000 per quintal.
Experts believe that with cooler weather conditions ahead, garlic prices could rise further in regions where current arrivals are limited.

  1. Highest Price: ₹12,000/quintal in Tanda Urmar (Punjab) – the highest garlic price in India today.
  2. Lowest Price: ₹700/quintal in Indore (Madhya Pradesh) – the lowest in recent weeks.
  3. Highest Arrivals: Jaipur mandi (Rajasthan) received 141.5 tonnes, keeping prices stable around ₹8,000.
  4. Low Supply, High Price: Mandis like Tanda Urmar, Mansa, and Qadian (Punjab) saw very limited arrivals but exceptionally high prices above ₹10,000.
  5. Stable Markets: Rajasthan’s Jaipur and Sriganganagar markets stayed between ₹3,000–₹8,200 per quintal within the normal range.
  6. Sharp Decline: In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore mandi, garlic dropped below ₹800, hitting its lowest point in recent weeks.

  1. Sell Now in High-Price Areas: Farmers in low-supply mandis like Tanda Urmar or Mansa should sell immediately to take advantage of record prices.
  2. Hold Stock in Weak Markets: Farmers in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan can store their produce for a few weeks prices are likely to rise as winter demand increases.
  3. For Storage Farmers: Keep garlic in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area to maintain quality for future sales at better rates.
  4. Traders’ Tip: Buyers in Punjab and Rajasthan should purchase carefully now, as a short-term price correction is possible after recent highs.
