Price and Arrival Analysis:

The strongest price surge today was recorded in Kolhapur (Laxmipuri) and Sangli mandis of Maharashtra. High-quality wheat traded at ₹4,800 per quintal in Kolhapur and ₹4,200 per quintal in Sangli. In Kalyan APMC, Sharbati wheat was traded at elevated levels between ₹3,000 and ₹3,500 per quintal.

Delhi’s Najafgarh and Narela markets, wheat prices stayed above MSP, ranging from ₹2,511 to ₹2,626 per quintal, indicating steady demand in the capital region.

Terms of arrivals, Sangli (39.5 tons) and Kolhapur (29.9 tons) recorded relatively higher arrivals, yet prices remained firm. Meanwhile, markets like Kalyan, Katol, and Karmala saw arrivals below 1 ton, which supported higher prices due to limited supply.

Suggestions for Farmers:

  1. Farmers with Sharbati or premium-quality wheat can benefit most by selling in Maharashtra markets such as Kolhapur, Sangli, and Kalyan.
  2. Regions where prices are already above MSP and storage facilities are limited, immediate selling can be a good option.
  3. Prices remain strong in low-arrival markets, so farmers should compare nearby mandi rates before deciding where to sell.
